Position Title: Sensor Scientist/Engineer

Location: Greater New York City Area

Job Summary: Work closely with Scientists and Engineers developing MET sensors. Conduct modeling, experiments, tests and evaluations of different materials, solutions and components of the sensors.

Skills MET Tech, Inc. is looking for an individual to be a significant contributor in the design, characterization and optimization of our sensors. This scientist/engineer will understand inertial sensors and grasp relationships between fundamental characteristics and device performance. We require an individual with a solid grounding in mechanics and physical measurements with ability to set up and maintain laboratory equipment to measure inertial performance (angular and liner sensors). Knowledge of and experience with inertial sensor is a must. Familiarity with particular applications such as geophysics, navigation, control or robotics is a plus. Good communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work with a range of people from basic research to manufacturing are required. This person should be enthusiastic, innovative, skillful and a self starter, preferably with a graduate degree in Physics, or Engineering, focused on inertial applications and measurements. Strong analytical skills and experience in defining, setting and conducting experiments and tests.

Company Description:
MET Tech is a Jersey City, NJ early stage company that has developed a radically new category of inertial sensors (linear and angular accelerometers, gyroscopes and seismometers) called Molecular Electronic Transducers (MET). Unlike commercially available sensors, MET sensors use a liquid electrolyte as their inertial mass. MET sensors represent a disruptive technology that can fundamentally change the economics of most inertial sensing applications. Compensation will depend on experience.
