Position Title: Chief Engineer
MET Tech is a Jersey City, NJ early stage company that has developed a radically new category of inertial sensors (linear and angular accelerometers, gyroscopes and seismometers) called Molecular Electronic Transducers (MET). Unlike commercially available sensors, MET sensors use a liquid electrolyte as their inertial mass. MET sensors represent a disruptive technology that can fundamentally change the economics of most inertial sensing applications.
As requirements for this position, we are looking for an exceptional individual who will:
1) Have an advanced degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
2) Have demonstrated ability to take a device from a prototype to a ready product
3) Work with scientists on improving the design of devices
4) Select and manage multiple vendors
5) Roll up his/her sleeves and get results
This person will likely perform these duties having only the limited human and financial resources of an early stage organization.
Successful candidate will likely be very creative, detailed oriented, have great communications skills, most likely worked in the past with contract manufacturers and be hands-on.
Past experience in R & D and sensor technology is a plus.
